Adjusting to TrifectaUpdated a month ago
A small number of people experience a temporary adjustment phase as their skin adapts to using Trifecta. Here’s what you might notice and how to ease through it:
Redness & Dryness
Retinol is working to boost collagen and cell turnover—this can cause temporary dryness or peeling (especially if you're using retinol for the first time) and should start to subside after regular use. There are a lot of amazing ingredients in the Trifecta, but the skin may take some time to acclimate. If your skin is feeling sensitive at the start of your new routine, we suggest using Trifecta just once a day to allow your skin to adjust to the half dose first. If it is still sensitive at just once a day, maybe try every other day until it adjusts and slowly work back up. Eventually your skin will adjust, and your patience will definitely pay off.
If your skin needs some extra TLC during this transition, our Enrich Breathable Barrier Balm is a perfect supplement to the Trifecta for those seeking additional moisture. It has been clinically tested with results that show improvement to skin barrier and moisture and has some bonus anti-aging properties. Particularly beneficial for skin recovering from injuries such as sun damage or surgery, the Enrich Balm not only provides intense hydration but also forms a protective layer to support the healing process.
Breakouts & “Skin Purging
When we switch skincare regimens, our skin goes through a "purging" period. This is a normal process where the skin will rid itself of underlying oil, bacteria, or dirt - all the things that cause the skin to breakout. The newly introduced skincare ingredients increase the rate at which your skin cells turnover, causing you to shed more dead skin cells than usual. This, in turn, pushes layers of dead skin off and also brings clogged pores to the surface. This is a good sign adn your skin will look better on the other side! If breakouts persist beyond 6-8 weeks, reach out to us.
